South Chicago is "Cookin' wit' Tittle"

The popular CAN-TV show, "Cookin Wit' Tittle" taped an episode at Chicago Lakeside's Marketing Center, 85th Street & Greenbay Avenue. The shows features  cooking and gardening demonstrations by local residents and is sponsored in part by support from Kraft Foods Foundation and LISC/Chicago. To see a clip, click here.

The show is produced and directed by veteran radio personality La Donna Tittle, who demonstrates cooking techniques and and interviews people about their favorite recipes.

The South Chicago-featured shows will air later this summer and highlight our local celebrities:

  • Master Gardener Gregory Bratton demonstrates how container gardens at home can result in healthy meals.
  • Culinary Artist Betty Nickels of the Homemaking Skills Institute prepares a meal using the fresh vegetables grown by Gregory including a portobellow mushroom dish and a grilled chicken salad .
  • A South Chicago historian talks about greening inititiaves in the community and its significance to the Lakeside project, formerly the USX steel mill site.
  • A representative from Alderman Pope's 10th Ward office discussed the Lakeside development and events like the successful July Dave Matthew's Band Caravan concerts.
