The third annual 10th Ward Green Summit will be held throughout the month of May 2010 and will offer residents with a snapshot of currently available green, eco-friendly and healthy initiatives designed to enhance the quality of life. News—A new model of affordable public transportation began rolling in January with the South Chicago Streetcar, led by the South Chicago Chamber of Commerce and funded through the City's Special Service Area #5. The goal of the new streetcar system is to keep retail dollars in the community by bringing shoppers to Commercial Avenue.
