South Chicago NCP convenes violence prevention roundtable

The South Chicago community welcomed Marlita White, Director of the Office of Violence Prevention for the Chicago Department of Public Health, on February 9 at the Power Circle Church for a roundtable discussion on making our community safer.
Rev. Jackie of the Power Circle and Tenth Ward Alderman John A. Pope welcomed the attendees who represented the southeast side as well as North Lawndale and Garfield Park. Ms. White discussed Chicago's Health Care Agenda, strategies for violence prevention, evaluation and technical assistance. Claretian Associates’ New Communities Program provided this lecture on violence prevention to enhance the efforts of our South Chicago CeaseFire and Safe Passage program.
