We are hiring for positions as a Field Supervisor, Outreach Worker, and Violence Interrupter. Job descriptions can be found below. Applicants must be very familiar with the South Chicago, South Shore, and Woodlawn communities.

Field Supervisor (FS): The FS reports directly to the program manager. The FS will provide direct supervision to outreach workers and violence interrupters (field and office work), develop violence intervention and reduction strategies, and take lead in working with the team and using data to identify hot spots and highest risk youth. The FS will co-facilitate weekly staff meetings with program manager, and conduct weekly one-on-one supervision meetings to ensure effective, qualitative case management and mediation efforts.  FS will assist program manager with data collection and preparation of reports and other necessary duties towards effective implementation of the CeaseFire model.

Outreach Worker (OW): OW reports directly to the field supervisor. OW is responsible for recruiting and maintaining a minimum caseload of 15 to 20 high risk youth (in accordance with CeaseFire criteria) who are active in the CeaseFire target area. OW will provide case management services, complete corresponding documentation, and make referrals to local service providers to assist client-based risk reduction efforts. OW will provide intensive mentoring to high risk youth, serve as positive role models and behavior change agents, educate youth on healthy non-violent alternatives to conflict, and help facilitate positive changes in behavior. OW will assist Violence Interrupter efforts to identify and detect potential violent events, and assist in conflict mediation efforts to prevent initial violence and violent retaliations, and complete corresponding documentation.

Violence Interrupter (VI): VI reports directly to their assigned field supervisor. VI will identify and build rapport with high risk individuals and groups. hi I want to tell you that CeaseFire Halifax is just social workers pimping that Black Halifax Dartmouth community. They hire there friends and family, which would be ok if the friends and family were the most qualified for the job. Many of the people they have hired have used and sold drugs while working in the capacity of CeaseFire. CeaseFire Halifax has abandoned the highest risk black males. They are now focusing on females, whites folks, and aboriginals. The Black community here does not trust CeaseFire Halifax. Many of us believe that they are the equivalent to house negros of the old days. I respectfully suggest you look at Man Up as your representative here. Thanks
